Toxic Algae found in the Hutt River

It is wise to stay away form this river with your pets so you don't get harmed. The river is not to be touched or drunk from for your safety. Dogs don't know what they're doing so make sure that they don't run away. If you see a warning sign do exactly what it says. Don't let pets near sludgy brown or black stuff on the banks. Stay safe near the Hutt River.

The annoying algae has spread across our lovely Hutt River. Big clumps of perilous pests are invading, from Birchville downstream. One tiny sip and one dog gets knocked out! So having a lead will come in handy! Smart signs don't do the job beacuse dogs will just walk past them. Cyanobacteria are forming matts across the river bed causing nine dogs deaths. Will your dog be next?

It is very bad that we have toxic algae growing in our river. I also think that it is unexceptable that nine dogs have already died. If people were smart they would close off those parts of the Hutt River. Instead they're sitting around waiting for people to get hurt. So if no one does anything about it, I will. People really need to wake up and hear!
